Aiming to be known for not only the shipyard but also for the building designs, our client considered the project with an open-minded perspective and enabled us to experience a productive design experience. While façade has been designed with a simple material palette of exposed concrete, naked bricks, and red joinery, we benefited from the client's experience of shipbuilding for interiors. Such a solution allowed the shipyard design to involve nautical details while reducing the cost in a rational way. For instance, we proposed to construct the steel framed hanging stairs and the stairwell with the materials produced by the client. Moreover, outdoor lightings around the shipyard, which are widely used today, have been designed and got produced by us since they couldn't have found in Turkey at the time.
